New Library Databases  

America's Obituaries is the largest and most comprehensive collection of newspaper obituaries and death notices. Easily search a collection of over 22 million recent records from hundreds of U.S. newspapers. Updated daily, it incorporates over 75 million records from the Social Security Death Index (1937-present), organized by state.

For searching and browsing American newspapers published in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries,America's Historical Newspapers is the most comprehensive online resource available. Continually expanding, it currently offers fully searchable digital facsimiles of nearly 2,000 titles from all 50 states. With eyewitness reporting, editorials, legislative information, letters, poetry, advertisements, matrimony and death notices and more, this acclaimed collection chronicles the evolution of culture and daily life across three centuries.

Messing Around With Science  

Our February edition of the children's educational series, Messing Around with Science, is set for Tuesday, February 23, from 4:30 to 5:45 in the Marguerite H. Gill Children's Room. The target age is 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. See the link below for a flyer with details.

Readers' Theater Event for Children and Families  
Families with children age three and up are invited to a performance of Readers' Theater on Saturday, February 20, at 3:00 p.m., in the meeting room of the library. Children eight years old and up are urged to participate by showcasing their reading and drama skills, with an opportunity to work with puppets. Library Board Meetings  
The Board of Trustees of the Montrose Regional Library District meets on the third Thursday of the month at 3:00 p.m.  The Naturita Area Capital Facility District Board meets immediately following.

New PreK-12 Educators' Resource  
TeachingBooks.net is a full-featured subscription website for teachers and educators. This online database provides original, in-studio movies of authors and illustrators AND a wealth of multimedia resources and other valuable content and links pertaining to PreK-12 books that help generate enthusiasm for books and reading. This Library Is Always Open  

AskColorado is a free online information service provided by Colorado libraries.  Anyone can use the website, www.askcolorado.org, to ask questions anytime day or night.  This is one library that's always open! Real librarians in real time answer your questions, help you find information, or point you in the right direction to get what you need. 

Spanish speaking librarians are available too.


Book Repair  
Have an old book that's falling apart? Would you like to get it fixed up? For the price of a donation to the Friends of the Library, we will stitch up that old binding or fix that broken spine. Just bring your ailing books to the library on the first Saturday of every month, between 11:00 am and noon.
