Crafternoon

Craftivism is using creativity to improve the world.  The library’s Crafternoon club practices craftivism by crocheting and knitting items for charity.  Crafters have made blankets for shelter animals, blankets for abused children, and hats for babies in need.  This fall we begin scarves, hats, and afghans for the homeless.  All ability levels are welcome, and supplies are provided.  Feel free to bring your own personal project to work on as well and enjoy the companionship of other crafters.

Donations of acrylic worsted yarn are always needed!

Death Café

At a Death Café, people gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death.  The objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives. A Death Café is a group-directed discussion of death with no agenda, themes, or objectives.  It is a discussion group, not a grief support or counseling session.  Death cafés are offered respectful and confidential, with no intention of leading people to any conclusion or action.

The library’s Death Café will be facilitated by Amiessa Dawn Jutten, Hospice Social Worker.
