Youth and Outreach Services Librarian
The Montrose Regional Library District is seeking an energetic Youth and Outreach Services Librarian to highlight our unique resources and bring them to the community.
We value candidates who have a positive and outgoing attitude. You must be able to navigate the public library environment; possess strong communication and organizational skills; and are comfortable with people of all ages and from all backgrounds. An ideal candidate will be able to work with large and small groups of children and their caregivers; must possess bilingual English/Spanish language abilities; be able to work evenings and weekends; and have the ability to perform more physically intensive duties, which can include lifting and pushing heavy materials, bending and kneeling, and being mobile for much of the day. This position will include outreach to local schools, organizations, and neighborhoods in our community. Ideal candidates must be able to drive vehicles of all sizes, including a 19-foot Sprinter van and a 32-foot bookmobile as well as maintain both vehicles for working condition.  You can learn more by viewing the job description HERE.
Due to the nature of this position, we strongly prefer a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited university or at least five to seven years equivalent experience in youth and outreach services with varied and robust experience. We offer benefits including health, dental, vision, and life insurance; retirement; and vacation, personal, and sick leave, in addition to holidays. The starting rate for a Youth and Outreach Services Librarian is $41,700 annually, with an additional increase for a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited university; we will also provide an increase for proficiency in Spanish.

Head of Teen Services
The Montrose Regional Library District is seeking a go-getting librarian to fill the newly created Head of Teen Services position. The right candidate will supervise Teen Services staff, work with teen volunteers to plan and conduct programs for teens, do outreach to schools and community organizations, and highlight our unique resources and bring them to the community.
We value candidates who can keep a confident, upbeat, and positive attitude while navigating the public library environment; possess strong communication and organizational skills; and are comfortable with people of all ages and from all backgrounds. An ideal candidate will possess Spanish-language facility (nearly a quarter of our population are native Spanish speakers); flexibility to work evenings and weekends as assigned; and the ability to perform more physically intensive duties, which can include lifting and pushing heavy materials, bending and kneeling, and being mobile for much of the day. Youth and Teen Collection Development Librarian
The Montrose Regional Library District is seeking a full time Youth and Teen Collection Development Librarian to highlight our unique resources and bring them to the community.
We value candidates who have a positive and outgoing attitude. This position is responsible for selection for all materials for youth and teen departments within the Montrose Regional Library District, including print, media, periodicals, and Spanish material. Must have knowledge of youth and teen literature, genres, fiction and non-fiction, as well as DVD, audiobook, and serial prints.
