Andrew Gulliford explores the history of the sheep industry’s place in the history of Colorado and the American West. Competition, often violent, between the early sheep and cattle industries in our local region is addressed without bias.

Andrew Gulliford is a professor of history and environmental studies at Ford Lewis College in

Durango, Colorado.  Author and editor of numerous books, Gulliford is a frequent contributor to “Writers on the Range” of High Country News, a non-profit media outlet covering important issues and stories of the American West.
