February 13, 2012

Who needs Valentine’s Day when there are so many other great days to celebrate in February?

Young adults in grades 6-12 are invited to “Celebrate a Weird Day” on Monday, February 13, from 4:00 – 5:30 in the library meeting room.

February 13 is national Get a Different Name Day.  Come choose a new name from a selection of name books or online name generator sites.  Transfer your new identity to a t-shirt in honor of White Tee Shirt Day (Feb 11) while snacking on chocolate mints (National Chocolate Mint Day, Feb 19), tortilla chips (National Tortilla Chip Day, Feb 24), and pistachios (National Pistachio Day, Feb 27).

We will be using the library’s new Flip cameras to make a “documentary” about “Celebrate a Weird Day” which will be posted on the library’s new website for all to see!  Be ready to tell the camera about your new name or the joys of celebrating weird holidays!

Sign up in the YA area or at the Reference Dept, or call 249-9656, ext 3.
