Backpacking 101 – Session One: Planning
April 13, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This is event one of a three part series to provide confidence to help you enjoy a backpacking trip adventure.
The discussion will be led by library staff and friends of staff that have a combined total of more than 100 backpacking trips logged. Event one will be going over the planning phase of a backpacking trip. We will discuss how to pick out a trail/destination and setting yourself up for a successful adventure. We have made all the mistakes so you don’t have to.
** Extra fun ** we will share 3 backpacking routes in our region with those in attendance (easier, intermediate, more strenuous.
Bring your questions and any fears that you might have. Backpacking is an amazing way to explore our public lands and Montrose is a perfect basecamp.
Special note: this is a three part series however if you miss one of them then that is just fine. The topics are separated out but do not necessarily require you to attend previous sessions if you are unable to attend.
