The Montrose Library offers delivery of most items in our catalog right to your door for free!

How do I request items for delivery?

Go to www.montroselibrary.org. Click on Catalog. Search for an item. Click “Place Hold” when you have found what you are looking for. Log in with your last name and your library card number. Under “I want to pick this up at” select “MRLD Montrose Delivery”. Click “Submit Hold Request” to complete your request. You can also call the Outreach Department at 970 249-9656 ext. 9 with your request

What is the delivery schedule?

Beginning the week of June 5, 2023, all deliveries will be on Tuesdays, unless it is a major/federal holiday or library closure.  Deliveries may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

Please let us know if you will not be home that day to retrieve your items from your front porch.

What is the delivery area?

We deliver in and around the City of Montrose and the Town of Olathe. Call us if you are unsure if you are in our delivery area, or if your residence may be difficult for us to reach.

How will I know when I will receive my items?

You will receive an email from the library a day or two before your delivery with a notification that your hold is now available. Your items will be delivered on the following Tuesday unless it is a major/federal holiday or library closure.

Why can I only check out 10 items?

Due to limited space on the outreach van, the library can only allow 10 items per address per delivery. Please contact us if your needs exceed 10 items per delivery.

Will you pick up my returns when you deliver?

Yes, we accept returns. Place your items in the bag in which you received them, and leave the bag outside your front door before 8:00 a.m. on your delivery day. Please be conscious of the weather and do not leave items outside in inclement weather.

Returns on the Bookvan

Important things to know about returns:

• Keep the bag in which your items were delivered. You will use it to return the items.
• Please be conscious of the weather. Do not leave items outside if they could get damaged by inclement weather.
• Deliveries may be cancelled on days of inclement weather.
• You may also return your items to the library book drops as normal. Use your online account or call the library to renew items.

How to return your items:

1. You will receive an email notice (or phone call, if you do not use email) from the library that you have an item that will be delivered to you.
2. Place the items you wish to return in the bag in which you received them.
3. Place the bag outside your front door by 8:00 a.m. on your delivery day.
4. When the library delivers your new items, we will take your old ones.
5. If you are not expecting a delivery but would like your items picked up, please call the Outreach Department at (970) 249-9656 ext. 9 to request item pick ups. Place your items outside your door by 8:00 a.m. on your usual delivery day.

¿Van a recoger artículos que tengo para devolver, cuando hacen entregas?

Sí, recogemos artículos. Coloque sus artículos en la bolsa en la que los recibió, y deje la bolsa fuera de la puerta de entrada antes de las 8am en el día de entrega. Por favor ponga atención al clima, y no deje artículos fuera en mal clima.

Devoluciones en el Vehículo de Entregas

Cosas importantes para saber sobre devoluciones:

• Guarde la bolsa en la que recibió sus artículos. La usará para devolver los artículos.
• Por favor esté al tanto del clima. No deje artículos afuera sí podrían dañarse.
• Las entregas pueden ser canceladas en días de mal clima.
• También puede devolver sus artículos en el buzón de devoluciones en la biblioteca. Use su cuenta en línea o llame a la biblioteca para renovar artículos.

Cómo devolver sus artículos:

• Recibirá una notificación por correo electrónico (o llamada telefónica, si no usa correo electrónico), de la biblioteca para informarle que recibirá una entrega el día siguiente.
• Coloque los artículos que quisiera devolver en la bolsa en la que los recibió.
• Deje la bolsa afuera por su puerta de entrada para las 8am en el día de entrega.
• Cuando la biblioteca le entregue sus artículos nuevos, recogeremos su devolución.
• Si no espera una entrega pero desea que recojan sus artículos, llame al Departamento de Servicios Externos al (970) 249-9656 ext. 9 para solicitar que pasen por sus artículos. Coloque su bolsa fuera de su puerta antes de las 8:00 a. m. del día de su entrega.
